M.O.Y.A. Moving Our Youth Ahead is a nonprofit organization based in Chicago, Illinois, dedicated to helping youth and young adults prepare for their future through college access, career exploration, and life skills development. Founded by Dr. Mellodie L. Brown, a nationally recognized education leader and equity advocate, M.O.Y.A. was created to ensure every student has the mentorship and resources they need to move forward with confidence and purpose.

Meet Our Founder:
Dr. Mellodie L. Brown
Dr. Mellodie L. Brown is a nationally recognized education leader, equity advocate, and nonprofit founder dedicated to helping students build pathways to success. With over two decades of experience as a principal and systems-level leader in urban education, Dr. Brown established M.O.Y.A.™ to guide adolescents and young adults in Chicago toward meaningful futures through mentorship, career exposure, and college readiness.
Her leadership has been featured by the University of Chicago, the Chicago Public Education Fund, and AUSL. Dr. Brown is committed to empowering students with the tools, resources, and belief that they can achieve their goals—no matter their starting point.
